Description

Introducing our exquisite Pakistani Tabriz rug, known for its traditional design and remarkable craftsmanship. This rug boasts a captivating combination of moss green background and a beautiful beige border, creating an elegant and timeless aesthetic. The main color of this rug is a stunning shade of green, adding depth and richness to any space.

Made from high-quality materials, this rug features a wool pile on a cotton foundation, ensuring both comfort and durability. With its size measuring 11'2" X 14'8", it presents an impressive statement piece that will adorn any room with its grandeur.

The origin of this rug can be traced back to the skilled ethnic Turkmen weavers, particularly those from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in this rug comes exclusively from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan. The region's mountainous terrain allows for the production of longer staple, oily wool, which is ideal for carpet weaving.

The wool undergoes a meticulous process, including hand carting and hand spinning, in the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it is transformed into carpet yarn. The weaving takes place on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, making it a genuine cottage industry production.

Utilizing the asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and employing a cotton warp and weft, this rug showcases the expertise of its weavers. The double wefted technique and densely packed depressed warp weaving contribute to the exceptional longevity and durability of this handwoven masterpiece.

Imbued with centuries-old natural dye stuffs, this rug epitomizes authenticity and artistry. The colors are a testament to the traditional dyeing techniques passed down through generations of skilled artisans.

Our rug has an impressive knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, resulting in meticulously hand-tied knots that provide a luxurious texture and intricate design detail. In fact, we've carefully calculated that this rug boasts a remarkable total of 1,863,910 individually hand-tied knots.

The Pakistani Tabriz rug embodies the impeccable craftsmanship and rich heritage of its origin. Its timeless design, superior quality, and exceptional detailing make it a truly remarkable addition to any collection or decor.
